I officially stepped into the world of fashion as a junior in college when I got the immense privilege of working behind the scenes at New York Fashion Week. However, the love for this world came a lot sooner. My father being the owner of a reputed garments factory and my mother being one of the most stylish people I know, the fascination began at an early age. In fact the inspiration behind the name ‘SIZ’ is quite personal as the letters stand for my parents’ initials. A lot of my designs are inspired by my childhood in Dhaka which consisted of visits to fabric markets such as Chandi Chowk, and watching my mother curate unique pieces.
Fueled by passion, I have set out on a mission to create designs that will redefine style by blending contemporary trends with rich Bangladeshi artistry. Through my designs I aim to bring traditional Bangladeshi handicrafts such as the infamous Nokshi Katha designs to the international landscape.
SIZ has also made commitments to sustainability, to help reduce our country’s greenhouse gas emissions. The Reject Project by SIZ is a unique measure to recycle factory rejects and create new, timeless products.
